Mystic is the most famous shipbuilding area in the USA but I didn’t visit this place not only for this reason. I enjoyed Mystic for its sea-related attractions, Museum, food, and many more. So I decided to share my journey with you. I will describe the 8 best things to do in Mystic, Connecticut from my experience.

When I reached there, I first decided to know about this place’s history. So I went to The Mystic Seaport Museum. This place is known as the number one shipbuilding region in the USA, has a history dating back to the 17th century. Then six hundred vessels were built over the next three centuries. So the American government decided to make this place an American Heritage.
You will explore here the Historic ship tools and equipment used by sailors and also the history of whaling. I had a guide with me to describe every single thing about this place. Mystic Aquarium
Do you love to explore the wildlife? I love to explore, so didn’t miss the Mystic Aquarium. That was an awesome experience of mine. I spent an afternoon at the Aquarium. For some moment I thought I was in marine life. I explored here sharks, sea turtles, and beluga whales.
You can learn about Ocean habitats and marine ecosystems. Also, Mystic Aquarium offers you various educational programs and interactive experiences. This is also famous for its research and conservation efforts. This research is on a variety of topics related to ocean ecosystems, animal behavior, ocean health, and human activity’s effect on the ocean ecosystem. I enjoyed this place too much for that reason I think Mystic, Aquarium is one of the best things to do in Mystic, Connecticut.
Olde Mistick Village
Olde Mistick Village is mostly a common shopping and dining destination and it looks like New England town. This village has several restaurants and cafes. You will get everything in these cafes and restaurants such as coffee, pastry, burgers, and many seafood items.
I enjoyed walking through beautifully landscaped gardens and when I was tired of walking, I relaxed in a villager’s outdoor seating area. If you visit this place on holiday then you can enjoy outdoor concerts, holiday festivals, and art shows.
Although, this is a small village you will find here a bank and post office. The most unique feature of Olde Mistick Village is its collection of antique shops and art galleries. Where you can browse and buy. I had a unique experience of shopping and a delicious meal.
The Mystic Museum of Art
The Mystic Museum was created in 1913 by a colony of artists with a non-profit organization. The Museum stands on the side of Mystic River. Usually, The Mystic Museum of Art highlights art from more than 1200 artists. The mission of this museum is to promote the creation of visual art through exhibitions and educational programs.
Throughout the year local national and global artists come here to show their art. The Museum offers educational programs including art classes and workshops. The Mystic River provides a beautiful background for both its exhibits and events.
This museum also hosts an annual festival that brings together artists, musicians, and food vendors. Usually, the festival lasts 2 days. I enjoyed The Mystic Museum of Art very much that is the reason I am keeping this place on the list of best things to do in Mystic, Connecticut.
Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center
Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center offers you environmental education and conservation. The nature center attributes exhibits and programs that showcase the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The area of the natural center is more than 10 miles long with a nature trail and animal sanctuary. This palace is a shelter of birts of Pray, reptiles, mammals, and many more. Don’t miss the butterfly house which is open during the summer month. The butterfly house features native and exotic butterflies. You will learn about these important pollinators.

This place is especially loving to man. If you or the man in your life needs a gift then this is the best place for you. There are many shops available here but these are specifically for men. You will find here Bread balm and other grooming sundries, Red Wing roots, man’s watches, ties, weekender bags, and more. You can also get here a classy T-shirt or pants. Every item is so eye-catching.
Mystic Pizza
Actually, Mystic Pizza is a pizza-making restaurant. Most of the people come here to this place to have a slice of pizza which is related to 1980s movies based on Mystic Pizza. But that reason was not interesting to me so I just enjoyed the pizza and that was delicious.
Charles W. Morgan
Charles W. Morgan is the name of a ship. This is a part of Mystic Seaport Museum. Charles W. Morgan is a historic whaling ship that was built in 1841. This is the last surviving wooden shaling ship from the 1800s. Charles W. Morgan was whaling in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
This ship is 113 feet long and 27 feet wide. You can tout the Charles W. Morgan ship and learn the history of whaling and the life of a sailor on board. Visiting Charles W. Morgan was exciting to me that is the reason I am keeping this place on the list of best things to do in Mystic, Connecticut.
