Affordable Winter Vacation Destinations in Montreal, Canada
Last winter I went on a trip to Montreal. This is one of the favorite cities in Canada after Toronto. Also, this is the second most popular city in Canada after Toronto. Most people in Montreal can talk in English and French both languages but the official language of this place is French. So if you are from another part of Canada and your language is English, you’ll feel like you are in a different country.
While writing this article, I visited Montreal in Summer and winter in both times. In the previous article, I shared my experience about my summer vacation in Montreal, Canada. In this article, I’ll share my experience with affordable winter vacation destinations in Montreal, Canada. I have so many good experiences and some bad ones—both experiences I’ll share with you.
Mont Tremblant
My wife was with me throughout this journey. When we reached Montreal probably it was 11 am and we were freezing in winter. So we decided to have a cup of coffee. After having coffee we went to Mont Tremblant. This is one of the biggest national parks is one of the biggest national parks in Quebec. Its key station knows Mont Tremblant. So don’t miss the incredible view from the chairlift. We could see the beauty of this place from above.
This is actually a ski town. I have visited this place before in summer and it looks really different. During winter you can explore various activities such as skiing and ice climbing.
Maple Taffy
Now we would try a famous Canadian dessert named Maple Taffy. That was a fun dessert for me. There will be some Maple syrup on the surface of the snow and you need to pick it up with a stick. This is really amazing. This Maple Taffy is so tasty and sweet.
Montreal Smoked Meat – Schwartz’s
It was probably 6 pm and we were starving. The last time when I visited this city was summertime. We tried to visit Schwartz’s but this was too busy then. But this time it was a little bit free. If you ask local people about the best-smoked meat in Montreal, they will point you to Schwartz’s.
So we entered the restaurant and we ordered two meals of Smoked meat. Actually, this dish is one kind of beef brisket. It was salted and cured over a week, smocked, and steamed. It was better than the previous one. This sandwich item was so delicious. So don’t miss this on your list of the affordable winter vacation destinations in Montreal, Canada.
Scandinave spa mont tremblant
Want to get a famous spa center in Montreal then go to Scandinavia Sap mont tremblant. When my wife enjoyed the spa, I finished 5 cups of coffee. You can’t take any pictures or videos on this. But according to my wife, their service is so good. They are very respectful of everyone’s privacy. You can take an ice bath or a warm bath in the swimming pool. Their body massage and spa service is so good. So you can add this to your list of affordable winter vacation destinations in Montreal, Canada.
Downtown Montreal and The Underground City
Your tour shouldn’t be complete without visiting around downtown Montreal and the Underground City. Most of the visitors come to see only the Underground City. The underground city has 30 kilometers of tunnels and walkways. You’ll find here a shopping mall, restaurant and everything you need. So don’t miss to visit around Downtown Montreal and the Underground City.
Cafe Olimpico and Old Montrial
It is called the historic district district in Montreal. In Old Town, you will find a lot of New France’s structures. If you are visiting Old Montreal, you shouldn’t miss a great coffee from Cafe Olimpico. The taste of their coffee and smell is so good. If you are a coffee lover you will definitely enjoy that coffee. This coffee shop was first opened in 1970 by Rocco Frufaro. He was an Italian immigrant. The main branch of this coffee shop is in Milw End but in Old Town, you will find a branch of it. My wife and I have taken coffee, biscotti, and sandwiches. Read more about Old Montreal.
Delicious Poutine
Poutine is one of my favorite foods but if I told you about La Banquise poutine, you have to come a second time if you taste it for once. La Banquise Poutine started as an ice cream shop and became a serving poutine in 1980. You can test here 30 kinds of different poutine.
