Winter Vacation in Park City, Utah
Park City, Utah is one of the USA’s most famous winter vacation destinations. This destination is popular for three things skiing, snowboarding, and the Sundance Film Festival. Park City is located about 35 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. There are many things to do in Park City during winter. So a winter vacation in Park City, Utah can be one of the best decisions.
About four months ago, I visited Park City. I visited some palaces and did some winter activities. In this article, I’ll discuss my experiences that I enjoyed most.
Table of Contents
ToggleSkiing in Park City Mountain
This town is a ski town. That is the reason why I keep this activity at the top. You will find many skiable slopes. At first, I bought the lift tickets which were about 250 dollars. I brought them online.
There were many rental shops. I rented my skis at Cole Sport. They have boots, helmets, the skis, the poles, and everything.
Then I was in the line to get on the lift. There are both types of trails for beginners and experts. If you are a beginner, you should stick to the beginner’s trail and the first-timers. The beginner trails were pretty long.
You can move on to the Kings and the Payday if you feel more comfortable. Payday was actually a beginner trial and that was a lot longer. Also, it was steeper.
Snowmobiling in Park City
I did that with Summit Medows Adventures, a part of Deer Valley Resort. If you come, you can rent Jackets and helmets. I bought my Jacket and Helmet online. So I didn’t rent anything. The goggles were free.
The snowmobiles are about $200 per person. If you are not going to drive you must pay $50 extra. So the total cost is around $250.
Utah Olympic Park
The 2002 Paralympics and Winter Olympics were held in Park City, Utah. So you should spend some time on your winter vacation. The best part of Utah Olympic Park is that it’s free.
Alf Engen Ski Museum
You’ll find the Alf Engen Ski Museum here. I had never explored this kind of Museum before. You can learn about the history. Not only that, you will find many fun things there. Also, there is an Interactive Kid’s Zone for kids.
My recommendation is that you don’t miss the Film Presentations. This is really awesome. You will find historical artifacts such as ski equipment, clothing, and other artifacts here.
Blind Dog Restaurant & Raw Bar
The food items of this restaurant were delicious. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner whenever you find a busy environment here. Mostly they were dessert items I enjoyed most. But their Seafood, Steak, meat, and vegan options are also appreciable. The behavior of their staff was good. I recommended to make a reservation because of its popularity.
The Park City Main Street
Almost everything you will find on Park City Main Street. Many shops, restaurants, art galleries, historical buildings, museums, and theaters exist. Don’t forget to attend the Sundance Film Festival, Art Walks, and Summer Markets. You can experience live music, cocktail lounges, and dancing for night entertainment.
Butcher’s Chop House & Bar
If you want a cool place to eat on the main street, check out Butcher’s Chop House & Bar. You can enjoy their delicious food and good wine. Also, you get to eat inside an igloo. But make sure to make some reservations.
St. Regis Deer Valley Resort
They have amazing hot chocolate from three to six. Also, they have lots of restaurants. You can go skiing here if you are a hotel guest and a member.
Sleigh Ride
It was -1 degree and we went for a sleigh ride. Park City Sleigh Rides offers many sleigh ride options. When I was enjoying the sleigh ride, it was nighttime. But I can’t recommend you to ride at night. If you choose the daytime, you can enjoy the stunning scenery. Or you can join the evening rides for a romantic experience.
Great Salt State Park
Don’t miss heading to Great Salt State Park. The Great Salt State Park is located on the southeastern shore of Salt Lake. It’s about 40 miles away. It’s in Magna Utah. This palace is the most easily active gateway to the Great Salt Lake itself. During winter it transforms into a peaceful and snowy landscape.
You can enjoy the beautiful view of the icy expanse and lake. Also, you can enjoy bird watching, photography, and the beauty of the frozen shoreline and vegetation.
