Summer Vacation in Breckenridge

This place is fantastic for summer vacation. Breckenridge offers many activities for families, enthusiasts, and those who want to relax in stunning Mountain scenery. Last summer I made a 3-day trip to Breckenridge and in this article, I will share my experience about my summer vacation in Breckenridge.


Water Activities in Breckenridge

1. Fishing in Breckenridge: Fishing is the most common activity in the summer season. I have enjoyed fishing in the Blue River or at a nearby lake. I bought a Fly Fishing Gear from Amazon and then used it for fishing. As I was new in this fishing area, so I hired a guide to enhance my experience.


2. Rafting in Breckenridge: This is also a popular water activity in summer vacation. I rafted in a nearby river Arkansas. This river offers whitewater rafting opportunities.


Hiking Trails in Breckenridge

Breckenridge has many trails for all skill levels. But the most popular hikes are McCullough Gulch Trail, Boreas Pass Road, and Mohawk Lakes. I hiked on three of them and each was very enjoyable. Enjoy Biking in Breckenridge

If you want to do mountain biking, this place has excellent trails. No problem, If you can’t do mountain biking. You can choose road cycling. Breckenridge has many scenic routes for cycling. Below are some mountain biking trials mentioned.


1. Boreas Pass: This is 20 miles round trip and this trail offers stunning views of the Continental Divide and the Tenmile Range.


2. Peaks Trail: The distance is 8.3 miles one way. Peaks Trails connect Breckenridge to Frisco. This trail is famous for both hiking and biking.


3. Flume Trails: The biking distance of Flume Trails is 10.3 miles loop and this loop offers great views and diverse terrain.


4. French Gulch: This biking area offers a network of trails. Its highlights include wildflower meadows and mining ruins.


Explore Breckenridge Historic District

Visiting Breckenridge Historic District is the best way to know about the town’s rich mining history and you can do it just by walking through this district. This district has many things to explore such as historic homes, museums, and tours.


Breckenridge Art District

You can find here many workshops and Art Classes. Ceramics Studio offers hand-building, glazing, and throwing. You should check the schedule for specific class times. I signed up for Hot Shop early as these classes tend to fill up quickly.


Historic Trolly Tour

This is my favorite thing to do in Breckenridge. Trolly Tour makes a loop around Main Street. It takes almost 30 minutes to cover to whole loop. I have written about the Historic Trolly Tour before. You can read that article for more details.


Relaxation and Leisure

You will win many spas and wellness for treating yourself in the town. Also, the main street offers many shops, restaurants, boutiques, and cafes.


Events and Festivals

You can enjoy jazz, classical, and contemporary music throughout the summer. Also, you should join the Breckenridge Food and Wine Festival. This festival offers you delicious food and wine from international and local vendors.


Travel Tips for Breckenridge

Pack Layer: Summer can vary in Breckenridge, so you should pack layers to stay comfortable.


Stay Hydrated: You can be affected by high altitude. So it is highly recommended to stay hydrated and take it easy.


Transportation: Don’t rent a car for flexibility. There you will find public transportation options available.
