Jasper National Park is the largest Canadian park in the Canadian Rockies. I’ve visited this place in the last year. During my travels, there were many places that I enjoyed a lot and some that I didn’t. From my experience, I’ll share the best things to do in Jasper National Park, Canada. Here you’ll learn about some adventure experiences in Jasper National Park.


Sunwapta Falls

Within the boundaries of Jasper National Park, You will explore two beautiful waterfalls named Sunwapta Falls. These two waterfalls are located near Icefields Parkway. While visiting Icefields Parkway, your journey would be more adventurous if you visited Jasper National Park’s Sunwapta Falls.


If you call these falls by different names, they are Upper Fall and Lower Fall. The Upper Falls is easier to see from the roadside. If you are visiting Upper Falls, don’t forget to take some pictures. The reason is the most famous picture taking place in Canada. You can enjoy a short hike from Upper Falls to Lower Falls. The best time to visit Sunwapta Falls is Spring times. So this place must be included on your list of the best things to do in Jasper National Park.


Athabasca Falls

Besides the mind-blowing Sunwapta Falls, Althabasca Falls is the most popular and my favorite waterfall within the boundaries of Jasper National Park. The Athabasca Falls is named after the Athabasca River. There is a short hiking destination that will take you to the awesome Athabasca Falls. 

 

The border around the Athabasca Falls is covered in lichen and the color changes depending on the season. During the summer the colore of the lichen is golden and during the months of the fall, the colore turns reddish-orange.


Icefields Parkway

As you decide to visit Jasper National Park, it will be highly recommended to drive the Icefields Parkway. If you want to test the various scenery, the best way is by driving along the Icefields as mentioned earlier Parkway in Jasper National Park. The Jasper Skytram

The Jasper Skytram

People say if you miss the ride in  Jasper Skytram, then you miss the whole of Jasper National Park. You can ride the Jasper Skytram to enjoy the full beauty of this place from above. The Jasper Skytram has a reputation of being the longest and the highest of its kind in the entire Canada. It takes you up Whistlers Mountain. While it’ll be passing up Whistlers Mountain, you’ll see an incredible view of the Canadian Rockies.

 

At the top of the mountain is the upper station of the Jasper Skytram. Unfortunately, the Jasper Skytrain is open at certain times of the year. means that people who visit Jasper Spytram during the winter months will be out of luck. You must visit Jasper National Part August from March to October. During the summer, It can be crowded, so recommend you to reservations. Moose Lake

Do you want to get plentiful wildlife viewing opportunities? Moose Lake will be the best option for you. While you are visiting Moose Lake, You have a chance to see some notable creatures and the creature’s name is Moose. A short hike around Moose Lake will allow you to see the Moses around the lake and some swimming in the lake. This will only take 30 minutes.


Cavell Meadows

Don’t miss hiking out to Cavell Meadows. Cavell Meadows is more beautiful than any other place in Jasper National Park. This is the most popular place in the region. Some reasons make hiking so popular for its accessibility, ease, and incredible views. The hiking distance is only about a mile and you’ll be exploring two awesome glaciers to the end of hiking. The names of the two glaciers are Angle Glacier and Edith Cabell Glacier.


Pyramid Lake

Beside Moose Lake, you’ll find another Lake named Pyramid Lake. Don’t miss to hike around Pyramid Lake. This lake is smaller than Moose Lake. I know If I tell you the lake looks like a kidney, it will be funny to you. But when I was in front of the lake it looked like a kidney. You will see the Pyramid mountain behind the lake. This place will be the best picture-taking opportunity for you around Jasper National Park. This is a short, worthwhile, and easy hike around the lake. The hiking is only over a mile long.


Maligne Canyon

Take the hike around Malign Canyon. Maligne Canyon is the dippest canyon in the Rockies. Some of them are over 50 meters deep. The experience becomes completely different in winter. Because during winter waterfalls fall into the gorge become frozen. During winter you can explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and fossils. Maligne Lake

Assuming you are around Maligne Canyon, check out Maligne Lake. Malign Lake is the largest naturally stunning lake in the Canadian Rockies and the entire Rocky Mountains. Malign Canyon is only 13 Miles long and the view is stunning.  The water of the lake looks like a shade of blue. When the sunlight shines off on the mineral-rich water, it’s breathtaking.

Columbia Icefield is a glass-floored viewing platform. It offers a view of the mountain, glaciers, and Sunwapta Valley. This is 280 meters above the valley. You will find the best view of Icefields Parkway.
