Over the past few years, I have explored almost every National Park in the USA. Among them, I discussed in detail the 7 best national parks in US during winter and this discussion is based on my personal experience.

This is one of the most picturesque in the country because of its rainforest, steep peaks, and rugged coastline. Olympic National Park is one hour away from Olympia. From my experience, I suggest you don’t miss getting a hot shower in hot springs. Here are five winter activities in Olympic National Park that tourists should take advantage of.

Whenever I visit Olympia, I never miss exploring Mount Rainier National Park. This park is located in west-central Washington. It became the most popular national park in the USA for its national beauty. Here, you will discover rivers, through flower-filled meadows and past glaciers.

 

Also, you can explore the most scenic waterfalls here. Mount Rainier National Park is perfect for solo, couple, or family tours. Outside of Alaska, this is the largest national park. The Death Valley National Park at 280 feet below sea level includes the lowest point on the continent. People don’t dare to visit Death Valley in the summer. But it could be one of the best national parks in US during winter. During the winter, you’ll get mild temperatures rarely below freezing.

 

Before Christmas, this is the least busy time of the year. You can explore Naked Mountains Tower, Sedimentary Badlands, Volcanic Craters, and Cinder Cones here. Winter is the best time to visit the Everglades National Park. The month to visit this national park is December to April. It’s located in Southern Florida. The Everglades National Park spans 1.5 million acres and this is the third largest.

 

It is easier to spot wildlife because of its lower water labels. Everglades National Park’s so-called River of Grass is a UNESCO heritage site. This national park is home to more than 70 species. The Grand Canyon National Park is one of the best destinations in the USA during winter. In winter months you can explore the stunning snow-dusted vistas and at this time this place is less crowded. The Grand Canyon National Park is located in Arizona, USA. This national park is covered by the Colorado River in Arizona.

 

The Colorado River runs uninterrupted for 277 miles throughout the park. The Rock at the bottom of the Grand Canyon National Park is nearly 2 million years old. About five million people visit the Grand Canyon National Park every year but you will find here only 10% of people come during the winter.

 

However, North Rim is closed during winter and the South Rim Compleat is open year round. The canyon floor is warmer reaching up to 60 degrees during a winter day. You can hike deep into the canyon or simply snap some photos. Tourists agree that the Grand Canyon is a must-see that will be unforgettable. Visitors must pay 5$ to be ferried across the Rio Grande on a small boat. No problem at all if you want it for free, just walk across at your own risk. Winter is the best time to visit this national park.
